Wow! Can I ride that? What a beauty! Almost like the one we have here in California (both Santa Cruz and LA).

if you sit close to the spiral while eating your lunch, you can see the sides of the spiral expanding about a feet or two while the train pass. I made short video in the ride, you can find many (not mine) on youtube.

It looks totally insane. Interesting that the very first huge ride at La Ronde was The Gyratron which was an incredible disappointment.

up until i rode le monstre, the only coaster I had been on was the Steamin Demon at the Great Escape in Lake George NY (Now 6 Flags Great Escape... and it sucks balls). Le monstre was awesome!

lol... the Comet came from some park in Western New York... the name escapes me and i am too lazy to google it.

everything is second hand here, even the goddamn amusement parks!

just like the super aqua club started as a second hand water park from when La Ronde got rid of the aqua park they had back years and years ago.

Expo 67 was a mind blowing success, even if it did have one of the world's most disappointing rides. IN the big pyramid part you were going through space with planets and stuff lit up - of course it also meant that "aliens" in the cars over head could spill drinks down on to you and all kinds of other goodies in the dark lol. Then you came out and went across to where you were swallowed whole by the devil or some thing and got a straight down hydraulic lift to the ground level. It was mainly the sudden sun in your face that caused most of the discomfort. The "cars" for this thing as I recall were 4 seats in a row and it could swivel for getting on and off.
