Is this the entrance off Barton Street? I remember this school had only two sets of stairs. The original stairs from the front, and a "new" set near the back.

...actually it was Melvin Avenue. Well, OK, I was one street off. Hey, it was 25 years ago!

You're forgiven! :) It looks like a ghost town down there now,the stores and such are boarded up across the street, probably because they rerouted the street there,it's not through anymore.

Oh yeah, I meant to write that this is the Melvin entrance. Did you find this schoool extraordinarily creepy when you went here?

No. I did not find it creepy. I found it facinating. I had a facination for old buildings even back then. That "Out Of Bounds For Students" sign was always tempting. What else did you find down there?

I went to this school back in the mid-eighties myself. Weird to see it again.

Yah, my sister went here the year before it closed. She was interested by the pictures and it was nice to have someone to say what everything was.

I used to go up those stairs to my lunch room. I still have my yearbook. Loved that school. Sad to hear they demo'd it.
