9 / 49   NSH_T06-1_09_GraveyardDrain

Description
Soo.. Between the time they tired of actually burying the patients and the time they started just leaving them setting in the basement, do you suppose they poured some down the drain? And why build a drain dead center of a graveyard.

Are you sure it's a drain? I mean could it be a air vent or something related to a possbile tunnel?

I am sure that I came across this in the middle of the graveyard, what it is and why is entirely speculative.

It doesn't look big enough to pop open. I'm sure there must be a man hole near there.
But it is rural county, Probably not big enough drains to crawl in...

Also there were never any hospital builings further from the central complex than here. I dont know why they would tunnel to here.

maybe the area was prone to flooding.

Actually there are tunnels that run underneath the entire area of the old hospital, as well as the area that they chose for the graveyard, is marshland and does flood. They used to have to weight the boxes down with rocks so that they wouldn't float back up until they were down sealing the grave. The tunnels run from under the old campus to the slaughterhouse and the surrounding areas.

by the way. I'm from Sedro Woolley and as one of the locals I know quite a bit about the old hospital because it's always fascinated me. Especially with all the hype of being haunted. Every kid out here has been to the slaughter house and the remaining buildings to try to get the crap scared out of them.
