I remember that building, at least from the outside. Charlie's speculation about stables could well be correct -- a little over 100 years ago, horses were the primary means of transportation. I'm not certain when this happened, but my mother once told me my grandmother survived a stampede of horses that escaped the stockyards and ran down Bridge Street. Apparently my grandmother avoided being trampled by clinging to a telephone pole. EGV
