  It looks to me like it could have been some sort of device to transmit/record video signals - you can see the classic RGB symbols on the left.

  Ahh, that's why it has the RGB on it. Prolly is one of those ancient video projectors with three bulbs in the front.

  Actually, I thought the RGB thing was a trademark of some company. I know I've seen it before and not on any projector. Just can't remember where.

  Oh, duh...nevermind. Projector as in a Projection TV. I don't know if that mark was specific to Sony or not. Nevermind.
