I wondered what it looked like when it was alive. Joseph Huebner and his infant daughter are buried on the grounds of the property. There used to be fights there over the money and gold on the coaches that were parked there having the wheels repaired. The northside of the building has no windows and the walls are about 2 ft thick to guard against arrows and musket balls. I was able to look around before it was sealed off. I'm glad thay saved it. Near by off of Evers Road, behind the Leon Valley Library you will find the family cemetery of the Evers family and Grissom family and other familiar names from San Antonio. It's a very old grave yard in the middle of a nieborhood. Christian Evers is buried there. He was one of the settlers of the Leon Valley area.
