Description
(1-3, I think.. but I'm getting lost.) The ladder leads to the roof of the visible jail cells. There is another ladder from there that extends up to the roofline.

  These look like the high security cells in the Annex. Just enough room for a cot and about 1 foot of space to stand by the door.

  The ladder going up was a storage area where they kept the gallows. The last hanging was in the early 50's in plain view of all the inmates from their coridoors.

  Actually, it was on December 11, 1962 (a double execution). Prior to its removal for eventual display in a future prison museum, the gallows were also stored in the basement.

  And the last two to be killed were Ronald Turpin and Arthur Lucas, both convicted of killing police officers.
