  you sure that's a reactor coolant pump??? RCP's tend to be MASSIVELY radioactive. even RCP motors are pretty nasty.

  yeah you guys are right. that isn't a pump.. that is a new reactor vessel, you can see the head-ends for the coolant loops on the front of it (which is the top of it when mounted in place). a used one would be heavily sheilded.

  We know a guy who goes fishing in the coolant pond of an NPP in Ontario; the warm water attracts really big salmon.
