this area, since 3 years has had more trains going through, in the mid 90s the senneterre train stopped using the tunnel and goes by taschereau sub now, so it passes here, now there are the st hilaire commuter train too. this building basically handled all the interlocking for the loops around pte st charles, it is archaeic technology that has long been replaced, interlocking towers all over the states have been replaced by silver bungalows. by the way maze, the rotating bridge here didnt have very much traffic, the bridge for central station was a lift bridge, they just cut the towers off when the canal closed :)

In the old days as you passed the tower on any train a quick look up and you would see an arrow indicating what side of the train you would disembark from in the station. I guess that is gone now too.
