  Thats the way of it back in the 1950's. there was no suck thing as a shower head.

  People who have a tub with no shower will often attach these for washing thier hair with.

  Really? No shower heads in the 50s in Canada? We sure had 'em in the States in the 50s and over here in the EU as well. As Wiccan says, those were mainly used for tubs that didn't have shower heads (usually older installs...older than the 50s).
