Very little city. Around 250,000 pop. isolated in the mountains but definitely worth the trip. By far the prettiest and most laid-back place I visited in Morocco.

oh I was just there not so long ago. chefchaouen is indeed a beautiful, isolated tourist city. did NOT know about that mosque though! I love sites that are all tucked away in the mountains like this, very dramatic. did you visit the ruins of the mosque in rabat? it gets a lot of traffic but is similar to this one, I should really make an entry for it when I get the time
