It collapsed after the French tried to blow it up. The first chagres they planted didn't do much, the second ones caused cracks and a staircase to collapes. The third charges caused the back portion to colllapse as you see here. They gave up after that; the Russians and British had the same problems with the flak towers in their sectors.

It's amazing how the photographer was sneaky but also at the same time he/she had sharp and artistic eye sight. Amazing shot. P.S German-made stuff are still the best on this world.

Ive heard that Hitler used the most rebar in his work. In other countries they are reusing these old structures because they are almost impossible to tear down.
