The Lachine Canal is really one of our city's gems. In a perfect world, that big blue building will be trashed, the old basins re-excavated, and the land between them turned into more greenspace. Wouldn't that be sweet!

well just so you know a little bird has told me that a certain comissioner of an independant baseball league is in negotiations with the federal government to build a 10 000 seat ballpark there sort of like a mini pnc park. there is a lot of truth to these rumors

What's that island in the background ? It would indeed be sweet to give back those basins...minus the smoke...Do we see Redpath? A lot of wood yards..in late 80's there was still a lumber yard on Basin street. The office is still there, barricaded but surrounded by the constant come and go of the calèches people. That office was all wood and old clocks and time punch..An instant voyage back in time !Of course I didn't take my camera when I needed wood !!! :-(

if you look carefully, you can see how much the lowered the water level of the canal by to increase clearance under the now immobile cn bridge
