Another excellent gallery mate. How did you manage to find an ex-patient?
Posted by lost 7/7/2005 10:57 PM | remove
  Just someone I know. :-)

  Insurance job!
Posted by lost 7/7/2005 11:33 PM | remove
Thing is he claimed for another camera a few weeks before (he dropped it in a loch). I doubt they'd buy it a second time...
Posted by TurboZutek 7/8/2005 2:18 PM | remove
  Oh damn!!

No backup POS cam? I have a Canon Rebel I fall back on if the original ZutekCam gets knocked out of service...

/Happens a lot too!
Posted by lost 7/8/2005 5:35 PM | remove
The backup POS cam was the one he dropped in a loch. :'(
Posted by purplegrum 7/8/2005 5:46 PM | remove
I drove the car over my old backup POS cam. Sad but true.
Posted by lost 7/8/2005 7:06 PM | remove
  Ha! How did that happen?
Posted by purplegrum 7/8/2005 8:09 PM | remove
I was taking kit out of the car after a day visiting ROC Post's and sat the camera down, forgot about it, drove over it.
Posted by lost 7/8/2005 10:22 PM | remove
  Haha, unlucky.
Posted by purplegrum 7/8/2005 10:27 PM | remove
It was no biggie, it was absolutely rubbish. Cost me £400 new, was selling recently on eBay for about £5.
Posted by lost 7/8/2005 10:53 PM | remove
  :-D What was it?
Posted by purplegrum 7/9/2005 7:09 AM | remove
Sony DSC-P50. 2.1MP. The photographs were not bad but the battery life was HORRENDOUS! 2 Double AA's lasted bout 10 min, Sony rechargeable battery pack (which cost £50) about 60 min. Put me off buying Sony's for life.
Posted by SnakeCorp 7/13/2005 6:25 PM | remove
  Sony's suck.
Posted by purplegrum 7/13/2005 6:39 PM | remove
I've concluded that you pay most of the price for the SONY badge on the kit.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/13/2005 8:43 PM | remove
Yeah... For Cameras Canon is my favourite.
Posted by SnakeCorp 7/17/2005 12:35 PM | remove
I've found that most Sony products are nowhere near as a good as they once were. For a cheapish pocket size camera to carry around, I recommend Pentax, whilst I use a Nikon as a 'proper' camera.
Posted by purplegrum 7/17/2005 12:45 PM | remove
I hope to add a Nikon D70 to my kit before Xmas.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/17/2005 3:52 PM | remove
  Bollox. Canon is teh roxorz!!!

Anyways, my grandpa told me something before he died (Uhmm.. Not right before): a camera is only as good as the punter operating it.
Posted by purplegrum 7/17/2005 6:11 PM | remove
Canon is alright, just personally prefer nikon.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/17/2005 6:19 PM | remove
  Red Sky at Night?

Fucking Nikon. :-(
Posted by lost 7/17/2005 8:15 PM | remove
Canon is just another one of those brands where the product doesn't live up to the billing.
Posted by purplegrum 7/17/2005 9:30 PM | remove
My mate works in a Pro camera shop down south and he says they sell more Nikon than anything else.
Posted by purplegrum 7/17/2005 11:33 PM | remove
(I've also just realised your the one formally known as 'lost' - lol what's with the new name?)
Posted by rainman8889 7/18/2005 1:00 AM | remove
Love the Nikon! Tried a Minolta but just wasn't the same.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/18/2005 4:24 AM | remove
Wow, the artist formerly known as lost!!
Posted by lost 7/18/2005 8:40 AM | remove
  y0:(
Posted by SnakeCorp 7/18/2005 8:35 PM | remove
Nikons are not at their best dealing with low light levels, it's true - but for everything else, they ROCK!!
Posted by rainman8889 7/19/2005 12:53 AM | remove
With a tripod it's fine but this Nikon was very forgiving to a certain amateur many years ago! And it's a manual SLR. Maybe in a couple of years I'll go digital.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/19/2005 3:29 AM | remove
Well, as at least 60% of my stuff is done at night, or in dark buildings... Fuck Nikon!
Posted by lost 7/19/2005 9:06 AM | remove
Nikon = upmarket Fuji = GREAT FLASH!!! As long as you have a steady hand they're fine.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/19/2005 3:16 PM | remove
  Flash Photos ?

Nahhahahhahahahhahaha...

OK!
Posted by TurboZutek 7/19/2005 3:17 PM | remove
Hey, why don't we juts... You know.. Call security first and tell them we will be there??? Or get a neon sign??
Posted by lost 7/19/2005 6:58 PM | remove
  Sure thing... :-\
Posted by TurboZutek 7/19/2005 8:37 PM | remove
I just mean: if you explore places at night, and get inside ?

The last thing you want is a dipshit flash fucking up your photos and announcing to all and sundry you are there.

So a camera with good low light ability is essential.

And that isn't a Nikon, unless you like noisy, red tinged photos that look like poo?
Posted by lost 7/19/2005 10:48 PM | remove
Aha... I adore noisy, red-tinged photos that look like poo though.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/19/2005 10:52 PM | remove
Well, if it floats yer boat matey: Nikon is for you!

I'd prefer to take a clear photo and then photoshop it to look red tinged and shite.
Posted by purplegrum 7/20/2005 12:22 AM | remove
What we need is some Nikon vs Canon low light shots of the same scene for comparison.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/20/2005 1:38 AM | remove
Ok, I'll get into somewhere at night and take a photo with my Canon.

You guys go get into somewhere.

Just upgraded my camera - ordered a Fuji Finepix S9500.

  Rook. But no, it's a laneway post-thing-a-ma-bobber.

Looks a bit like a golf ball washer

It's a vent, for the water tank. There's a few of them.
