Lifts, ventilation, heating and as a power source ... And a wild guess, the guns aiming might have been hydrolic?

Maybe, but they used hand cranks in the turrets of Panzers so they could have had a setup like that here. It would meen that even if there was a problem with the engine the gun could still fire until they ran out of shells on the gun deck.

I thought (have to read the books) there were 38 cm guns in these bunkers, so without power of hydraulics it would be very difficult to hoist the shells (900 kg each)

That is true. Maybe they did run hydraulic pumps off of the engines after all.
