Description
Around the corner, my suspicions are verified. These two sets of double doors take you to a tiny substation. There are severely corroded iron DANGER signs nailed to the left door. The contraption along the left edge is an emergency isolator.

Wow, good security on the isolator... Not.

It was padlocked to the wall (and the ON position) once. But you're right, and it begs the inevitable question: was it off until the local neds got to it?

I wonder what happens if someone turns off the substation... No more light for the guard at the gate?

There's no guard at the gate. Well, not the original gate anyway. But the whole complex is floodlit at night! I discovered (or, more likely, noticed) that after my visit, because I was wondering about that. I think the substation only serviced the factory floor in that building though.
