The wooden bricks were buckling all over the place. It kinda reminded me of toppled dominoes.

  Interesting. The Jenkins Foundry in Lachine had the same floor treatment. I figure the blocks provided vibration/sound dampening when rolling huge carts of stuff around.

  many of the albert kahn factories from this vintage have the exact same flooring material. neat stuff, but once it goes thru a few freeze / thaw cycles, it buckles like this from the expansion, then the building is fucked... when it'd take a few dozen thousand dollars just to tear out the flooring.... hahahah!

  Wooden bricks greatly decreases foot, ankle, knee and back pain compared to concrete or stone.

  The post office in okmulgee, Oklahoma where I live has them in the work area behind the main desk.
