Yeah, a master switch board with a button for just about anything. This was actually quite an odd room, I'm still not sure what it's purpose was. It had 'danger' signs on the doors and something about chemicals etc. I don't know what those brick platforms were used for either. Note the insulated light bulbs. There's more (and clearer) pics on my website.

Brick platforms were for batteries maybe? I know older UPS setups used huge ass lead acid batteries, that might've dictated having reinforced/raised areas for them.

Those lights look like the kind used in areas with flammable vapors / gases, to keep sparks from igniting anything.
