Description
In the basement: The Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band Live cassette boxset. He sorta started to suck after the Tunnel Of Love album, IMHO (though I did like Secret Garden from the Jerry Maguire soundtrack)...

Have you checked out 'Ghost of Tom Joad'? There's some killer songwriting on that one.

I should give Joad another listen - thanks for the reminder!

'The New Timer' has to be one of my all-time favourite folk songs. And I'm not even a Bruce fan.

I gave up listening to his stuff after Nebraska came out. Fantastic home made album that is. Born in the USA and the stuff after is is far to commercial for me.

I'm downloading Nebraska right now (at 40 KB/sec!). Dar Williams does a most excellent cover of Highway Patrolman, Mutt. Very restrained and atmospheric.

Bruce recorded Nebraska on a multi-track cassette recorder and carried the cassette in his back pocket for weeks before it dawned on him that this was the master copy of his new album. It's a very good album, holds up to this day.

I spun all of Nebraska, Joad, and Devils & Dust these last few days, and my favourite still has to be Joad. "My hand slipped up her skirt... everything slipped my mind. In that little roadhouse, on highway 29." I can't stand all that shmaltzy 'best rock 'n roll band in the universe' crap, it's so over the top. But I gotta hand it to the Boss. Dude sure knows his shit in the 'how to turn a phrase' department.

I love file sharing.

this is a great find. I own these albums, made it through high school listening to them every night during summer break. **this pic popped up on the UER homepage tonight under "random pic"**
