It's funny how Renault had such a distinctive style wheel. Used to live near a Renault garage in Inveraray, saw soooo many of those in my youth.

Pressed steel with an odd shape in the centre to take account of the bearing adjusters.

I had these on an old Renault 5 I wrote off!!! Fuck yeah!!! :-D

I have the 5's successor, a Clio - no such wackiness on it. :-(

Cittroen 2CV has a very distinctive wheel as well

Citroen / Renault / Peugot / Talbot - same thing!

  Yeh...shit!

Renault is seperate from Citroen/Peugeot/Talbot. French cars are the greatest! At failing electrics.

And dodgy hydraulics... (Xantia for four years)

Chrysler was also a brand of Peugeot-Talbot in the UK at one time. Also, Hillman and Singer, when it was part of the Rootes Group. And Commer/Dodge for commercials.

Talking about dodgy hydraulics, turbozutek, you're lucky your Xantia doesn't have the Activa suspension (or does it). It's fine until it breaks, then it costs $$$ to repair and they can't even do it right! It was available only to the 2.0T and 3.0 V6 models.

I thought the Citroen hydropneumatic suspension was a lot simpler than greedy mechanics perhaps make out. I can't see it being much more complex than the hydraulic brakes in 99% of vehicles...

I did indeed have an Activa - which could pull more force around a corner than a 911 turbo.

;-)

And yeah, it was pretty simple - EXCEPT the activa which had four extra rams, three more spheres, valves and two computers!

and if your frotting pencil breaks they have to ram out your felching valve and rim your arab strap

Well, at least we have shared a unique (Citroën) experience :)

I really liked Activa too before it started acting all crazy. The Xantia was my last French car, I drive an Audi these days.
