Second of four tuberculosis hospitals built in Florida and the last to close. Originally built to hold 500 patients, after the development of new medication, the amount of patients quickly decreased. At the time of closing, the large hospital was only funded for 50 beds. According to some sources, after the decline of tuberculosis, parts were used as a mental hospital.
