A fairly typical abandoned neighbourhood close to Seoul Station. It appears to be almost totally demolished from the street, but if you go up the hill more there's quite a large abandoned neighbourhood back there.

     History
The area takes its name from Sohn Kee-chung, a famous Korean patriot known for one of the most badass displays of shame in history. To save you a trip to Wikipedia, he won the gold for the marathon at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, but because Korea was occupied by Japan at the time it was counted as a win for Japan, so he and bronze medalist Nam Sung-yong bowed their heads in shame as they received their medals.

Sohn's hometown was Daejeon, but a memorial park was established right next to this area in his honour in 2002. The park doesn't seem to be threatened by this renewal project.
