The shooting range itself is gone, but 2 small buildings used to house the staff and a small porch still remain. After it was abandoned in 1981, it was only visited by the local youth as a hangout spot, and homeless people to sleep. Around 2006, the youth group of the alternative green party tried to convert the former shooting range into a youth culture center, with concerts, theater and movie shows, without any commercial interest. However, the town council moved them out by force and bolted up the windows and doors (more or less successfully). Today, the buildings still stand there with no intention to use or demolish them from any side. The local youth still visits the buildings from time to time, but try to keep it discrete. Access is no problem, there is no fence around the building, just the windows and doors are shut (mostly), and the buildings are right next to a walking trails. The former shooting range is now a meadow, mostly used by people with their dogs, who might see you exploring the site, but just don't care.

The buildings are part of a shooting range build by the Imperial and Royal Army of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire some time before 1890. During WWII the shooting range was also site of several executions by the German military tribunal. After WWII, the Austrian Army reopened the shooting range for training, the shooting range staff was housed in the 2 buildings. Armed police forces also trained on the range. Because of other shooting ranges outside the town, and concern about the environment, the range was abandoned in 1981. Recent attempts to convert it to a youth center failed because of government interventions.

There were plans to convert it to an alternative youth center in 2006, but nothing happened yet (and its unlikely that something will change soon)
