     History
Built in 1965, FairHaven Retirement Home was a non-profit, independant living community that survived until 2009. In 2009, the home was in dire straits, they had several lawsuits pending for gross negligence, as well as the roof and foundation were in such dire need of repair that they would not pass the minimum U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development standards. The home closed amid mass media coverage of neglect, booting many senior citizens living on social security to the curb.
