 Overview
 Description
Thompson Corner, Waialua, Hawaii
At the intersection there is a yellow gate to a private road. The ruins of the church and the cemetery are on that road.
The site consists of the structural remains the first Catholic church on the North Shore of Oahu.
The gate is often left open. If the gate is closed and you opt to visit, do not block the gate. The road leads to active residential and agricultural areas. Residents probably will not bother visitors to the church site.

     History
Built in 1853, St. Michael's of Waialua was the first Catholic church (and maybe the first church) on the North Shore of Oahu. The church was relocated circa 1912 to be closer to the sugar plantation and the original site was abandoned and left to ruin. King Kamehameha IV granted a royal patent for the strip of land on which the church was built.
