The other half is a very cramped and rusty series of floors made from metal grating, allowing visibility of all at once above and below. This area has a mind-boggling assortment of random stairways, ladders, pipe structures, and at times confusing machinery and setups. While extremely fascinating, this site does harbor a large amount of potential danger and requires a great deal of caution and alertness while navigating. Almost everything you come in contact with is rusty, jagged, or unstable [many sections of floor, even metal grating, are weak]. When the mill industry declined there was no longer a use for the plant and it was closed down in 1998, leaving over 800 jobless.  Media Coverage  Future Plans The site is being slowly cleaned, in the past year soil was removed and paved over. Fences are up and construction vehicles come and go.
