As of 2010: The location is probably close to 20 acres with 7 accessible buildings, three large radar platforms, and various utility related structures. All building are beat - bad. Ceilings are caving, some have burnt, all are tagged. Nothing is left except the structures themselves. It's still cool to walk through, though. The Power Supply building is mostly intact with only moderate damage by vandals. Wear your boots, pants, and sleeves because the entire property is overgrown by briers. A machete is recommended to help clear your path. Barracks, Mess, Main Radar Building, Control and Motorcade are still standing but in rough shape. The Pump House is tiny but still houses original water tanks. Platforms for the electrical transformers are still on site but transformers are gone. The property borders and old-folks home and apartments but I have never had issue with either of them.

HA-48 NIKE Missile Integrated Fire Control (IFC) . This site was the IFC for the Ajax and Hercules missile launchers that were / are in Middletown. Together they helped protect the Hartford area (Presumably, and more specifically, Pratt) from incoming Soviet bombers during the Cold War. NIKE installations were used as a "last resort" of defending the homeland when all other mechanisms had failed. This site was the home for target tracking, target acquisition, and missile tracking radar. The site was constructed in 1956 and disbanded in 1968. During that period of time the site, as with most other NIKE installations, underwent rapid and numerous changes and upgrades. Upon termination of the installation, all equipment - both electrical and mechanical - were removed but the grounds and structures were left as they were, including the flag pole.
