The beautiful moss covered rock remains of a once elegant mansion. Also on the grounds is Jack Londons grave & the remains of a winery, farm with all stone buildings. There is also a museum located in the house his wife built after his death & Londons house he lived and died in during construction. Lots of trails for hiking & a small lake. I also found the wee lil town it was located in very charming.

"My house will be standing, act of God permitting, for a thousand years." -Jack London Construction of Jack London's home started in 1911. The 15,000 sq.ft. home had 26 rooms & 9 fireplaces. Built of unpeeled redwood logs, lava rocks, and Spanish tile @ a cost between $40-70K. A month before the Londons were to move in, on Aug 22, 1913, fire destroyed the home. "It was a very quick fire," London said later. " We can't tell whether it was incendiary or not. The walls are standing, and I shall rebuild." Jack London died in 1916, his reconstruction plans never realized.
This place was designated a Registered National Historic Landmark in 1963 & is now a state park.
