Access is easy, but you will have to negotiate a steep cliff to get in from the road. You can also walk in from Normanskill Road in the Port of Albany. Just North of where NY State Highway 144 crosses the RR tracks on a bridge, there is a pull-out. It is safe to park there on weekends, but on weekdays, it is used as a turn-around for school buses. I've noticed problems with the Google map. The location is a few miles South of Albany and just North of the power plant on Highway 144. UPDATE: As of January 2022 everything remains in situ. A wind turbine facility is planned for the site, but construction cannot begin until the locomotives and rolling stock are removed.

If you're interested in trains, this is one an opportunity to see the only remaining locomotives of this type anywhere in the world. The collection includes the only "T" motor known to exist and 1 of only 3 "S" motors still in existence. The "S" motor is the first (prototype) "S" motor ever built.

This is a collection of railroad locomotives and cars that were donated to the Mohawk Hudson National Railway Historical Society for a museum that was never built. The Mohawk Hudson NRHS acquired the first locomotive in the early 1960's. No restoration has been done since 1985 when one locomotive was used in a movie. As of November 2023, the T-3 and S-2 were removed from the Site by the Danbury Railway Museum. The remainder of the railway equipment was scrapped.

The owners of the equipment lack the funds to do any type of restoration. The Danbury Railroad Museum had expressed some interest in acquiring the electric locomotives, but they cannot be safely moved by rail in their present condition. In a 2008 letter from the president of the Mohawk and Hudson NRHS, it was stated they will likely be sold for scrap at some point. April 2022 Update: The Danbury RR Museum intends to scrap the RS3, U25B and all of the rolling stock. They do plan to remove and restore the T-3 and S-2 sometime this year.
