Gutzeit & Co built a log conveyor system on the isthmus between the water systems of Kymi and Saimaa. Nowadays the transformer building (built in 1891) and the later pumping station (built in 1935) do still exist. Remains of the log floating channels are also noticeable.  Media Coverage  Future Plans There is a road construction (highway 13) routed through the area.
