There are two sections to the school: the classroom section was probably built in the 1930's and there is a more modern gymnasium from probably the 1960's. The school was sold decades ago to Tri-City Christian School, which is no longer active. After the recent fire, someone put up fresh plywood over many of the windows. There is extensive vandalism indoors. But the roof is in good shape and surprisingly, there is no water damage from rain. The roof over the stage where the fire was has collapsed. There are classrooms, principal's office, gym and stage and dressing rooms, boiler room, library (maybe), and boys and girls lockers rooms. There is no kitchen or lunch room, so it is not clear where people ate lunch. Credit to buckbeew for first pointing out this location at KCURBEX. 4.2.2024 - Appears as a pile of rubble in Google street views, 2023.

Two comments posted by the public at the Kansas City Star web site after the article on the fire on 6/22/08: "I went to school there for three years in the 1980s when it was known as Tri-City Christian School. It was an old school when they bought it, but still, sad to see it go." "I went to this "school" if you want to call it that back when it was owned by Tri-City. I think it's probably just some kids messing around maybe smoking or something and it caught fire. Either way, I'm glad it burned! That school SUCKED! My entire elementary life and one of my Jr. High years was spent in that building and I swear to God, we thought it was being run by Hitler himself! The very last year my sister and I went there, they locked all the girls in the gym after school because they said someone stole the P.E. teachers keys and none of the girls would be leaving until someone either found the keys or fessed up to taking them! Needless to say, my parents put us in public school the very next morning. What a nightmare of a school!!!!!!"
