Though the factory is small, it's still very interesting, since instead of one big production building there is several smaller ones, much more detailed than one big hall would be. Local graffiti artists have also made this place something different: Most of the walls of this old paint factory are covered with high quality graffitis.

During economical depression in early 1990s several companies went bankrupt in Finland. One of them was Ha-Te-Ke, a chemical factory in Hanko, the southern end of Finland. The factory was found in 1928 and during its operation it produced paints, varnishes, asphaltic and latex products, special filling cements and glues. Until 1995 there was still some low-scale production, but in 1999, when the manager of this business passed away, the buildings were completely abandoned, and they have stood vacant ever since.
