2 storey wood frame lodge originally used as a restaurant & hotel, then as a residence for many years. On prime riverfront property, it has been bought and abandoned and sits wide open.

2 storeys of old junk right out of the 1950's. Amazingly very little grafitti or damage, except that done by salvage crews. The basement is a cornucopia of personal belongings, momentos and handyman's stuff from the last few decades.

According to a 1953 Ontario Department of Highways plan, this location was shown as a "Restaurant and Lodge". On a 1956 plan a Fina gas station stood just to the south. The concrete islands still survive in front of both the gas station and the lodge. An older 1924 highway plan shows nothing on the site, however a Loyal Orange Lodge once stood a few hundred metres to the south. The gypsum board used in the lodge has patent dates from 1948 similar to that in the mystery microwave tower near Greely. This narrows down the opening of the lodge to the period between 1948 and 1953. Behind the lodge there were several cabins which stood until the property was "cleaned" up in 2005. It is difficult to tell exactly when this building went from being a place of lodging to a private residence, however it has not been used for the former since at least the mid 1980's. A marina is also said to have existed on the Rideau River here. Close by there are several other motels, all of which are newer and larger. Since the opening of Highway 416 in the 90's the motels further north have been capitalizing on their proximity to the airport. A developer now owns the property and has erected a sign. In 2005 anything of value was stripped from the building leaving only framing, bathroom fixtures and other interesting junk for exploring. The building has sat abandoned since being stripped.

The land will become part of a high end subdivision along the banks of the Rideau River.
