     History
Squire's Castle was built in the late 1800's by William Squire, and it was going to be used as a gatehouse to a mansion which was supposed to be built behind the castle. But while it was being built, William's wife died and he quit building the gatehouse. He then gave it to the state of Ohio to use as a public place in the metroparks.
