Built in 1912, the structure originally housed the Tamalina Milling Company. Today the company is known as B. Martinez & Sons Tortilleria.
1931: The Sealy Mattress Company takes occupancy.
1940: T.H. Birdsong buys the buildings and the building becomes known as the Birdsong Peanut Factory. The silos are constructed shortly thereafter.
1980's: Unclear the exact timeline here, but Birdsong moves out and the property becomes abandoned. Birdsong still operates today in 11 states from New Mexico to Virginia. Their peanuts are used in everything from peanut butter to peanut M&M's.
