An abandoned quarry with a history like no other. The only remnants today include the stone rock crusher, and various structural elements of a place once known to all as “The Rock.” It is a wonderful place to explore, walk, hike, off-road, and relax—enjoy the tranquil mix of unparalleled history and nature (and hopefully, the hauntings!)

Split Rock Quarry is a historic site. The fences aren't there to keep you out, rather, to protect you from falling down the cliffs. The entire place is wide open and completely accessible. Posted signs denote private property bordering the quarry; if you take notice of them while hiking, you should be fine. Shotgun shells have been seen all over the area, so beware. Look out for ATVs as well.

Camera, rope (if you wish to venture into the catwalks), gloves and head protection wouldn't hurt in the rock crusher.
