     History
Once called Sunny Acres, the former youth facility was abandoned in 1974 over safety concerns and has languished ever since, watching over San Luis Obispo from its picturesque perch above General Hospital.

Named in a community contest, Sunny Acres was designed by the San Francisco architecture firm of William Mooser Co. Its portfolio includes the courthouses in Santa Barbara, Contra Costa and Calaveras counties, along with San Francisco's tower building in Ghirardelli Square and the National Maritime Museum.

2018 - The existing Sunny Acres is gutted and renovated. Additional buildings are built on the property.

2019 - Bishop Street Studios opens, providing 33 units of supported housing for adults living with a mental illness.
