Situated in a valley, most of the installations were located in the surrounding mountains. This geographic position made Sarajevo more vulnerabe to serbian attacks from 1993 to 1995. The boblsed track was right in the middle of trenches on Trebevic mountain and was badly damaged from the fighting.
