 Hazards
  • unsafe flooring

  •  Interesting Features
The 150 acre estate is embedded in the local folklore with tales of marauding knights, warty witches and heroic damsels. Apparently.

I did read that the last witch to be burned at the stake in Dundee - Grizzel Jaffrey - planted many of the trees and vegetation surrounding the mansion, the horticulturalist whore.

     History
A ruined castle, Ballumbie, overlooks the Fithie Burn 4 miles northeast of Dundee. Built in the 14th Century, this once strong courtyard castle was ruined by 1682 and later incorporated into the stable-block of Ballumbie House. Now both lie ruined in an estate of 150 acres, which now incorporates the 18 hole, 6127 Ballumbie Castle Golf Course and considerable housing development.

Once the property of the Lovell family, including the infamous Henry of that ilk, who terrorised his neighbours in the 1560s. Later the castle was owned by the Maule-Ramsays of Panmure.
