In August 1940 the Germans started to build four huge bunkers for their 38cm (15 inch) guns that shoot their load towards England. Together with the Fire control post and several other bunkers it was called Stand Gruppe Saitenspiel. After the dead of Dr. Fritz Todt (8-2-1942) the bunkers where named after him. M.K.B. Todt was a Coastal Battery. They used the same type of guns as the ones used on the battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz. The guns had a range of 42 kilometres (26 miles) with the standard shells and with the special Siegfried shell it had an range of 55,7 kilometres (35 miles) During autumn 1941 the battery was ready. The gun bunkers were named Turm 1,2,3 and 4. Nowadays Turm 1 is a museum, Turm 2 is very difficult to access, and Turm 3 is exploded right after the Second World War and last but not least Turm 4 with a lot of paintings on the walls.
