     History
BC components was a large manufacturer of passive electronic components. In 2002 the company was purchased by Vishay Intertechnology Inc. and the plant closed shortly after in 2003 because Vishay moved most of it's manufacturing offshore to India and China. The current grounds are being cleaned up and maybe demolished, in the last 2 weeks a dog park has appeared and much of the rubbish inside has been removed. BC Components donated this land to the Irmo-Chapin Recreation Commission, and there are plans to turn it into a water park.

     Future Plans
So far there are no future plans, it is slowly being cleaned out and is demolishing itself through the weather. The dog park is a new addition, but it is only on the land that the city bought from BC components.
