One of many sugar factories on the Colorado prairie. At one time there were 20 active factories owned by Great Western Sugar in the state. These mills were all built during the early 1900's and attracted Native Americans and immigrants from Sweden, Germany, Russia, Japan, and Mexico. The prime of these factories were between the years of 1900 and 1919, known as the "Sugar Beets" period. By Tony H.: Built in 1902 by Kilby Mfg Co for Eaton Sugar Company and purchased in 1905 by The Great Western Sugar Co who owned and operated it from then until 1977. Demolished May 2013. http://denver.cbsl...gar-mill-in-eaton/
