     History
There used to be two buildings on this site: a small brick building which was probably a pumphouse, and a concrete tank full of water, covered with a corrigated steel roof. The tank was presumably used to mix and/or cool the water returning from the steel plant, as you could look inside and see a huge whirlpool! There was also what looked like a well with a steel frame tower over it, something like what you'd see at an oil well but smaller (50' tall or less). A steel pipe culvert under the adjacent railroad track provided personnel and pipe access to the site from the steel plant.

That was what was there sometime around 1970. Today, all is gone and overgrown except for the fence, a telephone pole, some concrete around where the well was, and the culvert under the track. There's also an environmental monitoring well that probably went in around the time the place was demolished.
