It's strange to see that they partly restored it... new window, railing on roof, a radar on top...? it wasn't there on my B&W pictures...?

Th radar is new? since it was decommed in 1980 or so, wouldn't hit have had a radar set on it?

i got pics of ships in the 70s with radar antennas, and well the daniel mc allister from what ive seen ran into the mid 80s, i have the picture of the seizure raft of HALCO's ships and the daniel was one of mc allisters tugs on the raft, that was in the 1986-87 timeframe

the lachine canal has a draft of 8 to ten feet in this area and in the areas last closed to shipping in the west it goes up to 20 feet

not even, they wet down the decks to prevent hogging, the only time they risk touching bottom is leaving the locks, they leave slowly to allow water in behind, the boats are loaded to a draft of 25.5 feet most of the time, today when my dragonboat team was out practicing in the seaway the cedarglen (sister of windoc my all time fave) it was loaded to 24 feet, the water in the seaway is low, algonquin power is running thier dam in ste catherine full tilt.

the last ship i saw run aground was last summer the gordon leitch ran aground at st nick island, i was able to get on board, got pics somewhere

Wery nice pictures. Even though she's leaky, she doesn't look that rusty. Would ber nice to see her restored.
