This whole area is worth exploring, for any number of reasons. 2,000 year old ruins to recent abandonments. 500 year old churches and recent cemeteries. Rugged landscapes with many active and dormant volcanoes. My wife and I spent a week in the area last year and here are some of the more interesting pix. I was very sick, so the camera did not come out as often as I would've liked. Also, one never knows the intent of some people and in rougher areas, the camera stayed hidden to avoid potential problems. This is rural Mexico and appropriate cautions should be exercised.
