Right about this time we heard people inside. I approached them and asked where they'd be playing because I didn't feel like getting lit up with paintballs.
Like hiding the name matters:

 Paintballer's car:

 Oh I almost forgot:

Don't forget about the sharpness (or lack thereof).. and the fact that the 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS is FAR worse in the distortion department.

| | | | Posted by 8Redrum I been there a few times, boring place. They play paintball in it every weekend. Did you see the old coal furnace room? The last picture looks like this vending place right around the coner from my house that closed down. Did you see anything good around there?
|
Hmm, not sure if we saw the furnace. Unless it was downstairs under the paper rollers. If so, yea we walked around there. We didn't make it around to go under the gate in the first photo. That would have been a complete circle for us but the guys started shooting and we really didn't want to get into that crossfire. Also the sign in front of the place is gone. It does seem like an awesome place to play in though. I should take out my old gear.

The barrel distortion is pretty strong. It's almost a fisheye lens.
 Resized, no other editing.

Nikkor 24-85mm 3.5-4.5 It's actually pretty sharp for a cheaper zoom lens but the distortion is just too much. Can't really judge the sharpness on this set since I was using 3200 ISO.

Yes, that distortion is pretty extreme and I would assume that you were shooting at 24mm in this case. I would never just the sharpness of an image based on the web size version as any image that has been resized smaller for web view will always look sharp assuming it was taken properly in the first place. Since it is a Nikon this info is no longer useful for me...lol Thanks though.
