| | | | And if it's anything like Doors Open, you'll be standing around for half an hour waiting to get in. Best to wait until 6 hours into it or so.

| | | | Well, I figure that it's open for 12 hours - that's a hell of a lot better than the 4 or whatever it was during Doors Open. Plus this event isn't exactly marketed towards transit nerds like Doors Open was so chances are, there won't be many people lined up. Just my luck I'll be up north this weekend, otherwise I'd be there. It'd be interesting to see the looks you'd be getting if you came up from track level. It's probably a very good bet they won't be running trains through Bay Lower at all (the TTC is offering 24 hour subway service that evening however).

| | | | Actually, it was rather sublime with the yellowish lights and dark, empty trains on both sides. Between the thunderous bass, there was a brief pause followed by a disturbing rattle, created by an inaudible rhythm.

| | | | Went at 2:50am figuring the "transit nerds" and such would be gone and the line would be nearly non-existent. Nope. Transit nerds were replaced by... well, drunks and weirdos. Thousands of them. It was quite surreal actually. Some idiot kept yelling "STAND CLEAR OF THE DOORS!" thinking he was being witty somehow. The TTC or whatever group that set this thing up had a weird "bass show" going on. It seemed to consist of loose metal things being placed in certain spots along the ceiling which were being knocked around by some kind of bass source above the station. I suppose it was supposed to be eerie or ghost like. Anyway it was cooler than Doors Open cause they killed most of the lights but it was just basically a bunch of drunks yelling and screaming and trying to pry open the doors to the subway trains they had in each platform. I was trying to be nice earlier, but everyone was drunk when I went (midnight-ish). Oh yeah and photo nerds were in effect too. I enjoyed last years Nuit Blanche much better.

| | | | Hmm... Thanks for the overview guys. I was gonna go last night, but got occupied by other things instead. I feel like I didn't miss much. (Or I didn't miss some TOTALLY AMAZING, ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME opportunity!) I think I prefer to schedule my own, personal Nuit Blanches, lol... Attendance usually tops out at one or two people. I like it better like that. (I prefer silence over techno, too. *shrugs*)

| | | | The wait wasn't that long, maybe 15 - 20 minutes in queue. The best way to see Lower Bay remains the classic way. Too many people cramp my style, but hey! I liked the low lighting they had down there, made for interesting photos rather than it just looking exactly like Bay Station with outdated advertisements (which couldn't be seen, thank you subway trains).
Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you. |
