The checks and balances in place in all aspects of life involve humans who do not follow rules 100% of the time. remember they are set by other humans. So with that being said, the next time your car breaks down because of a part that has been made by a human that has checks and balances in place, is it ok to say that all good assembly workers are dead assembly workers?

The difference is car mechanics can't get away with making decisions that affect people's daily lives, ruining lives, or even taking lives.
Posted by exkalibur I don't appreciate death threats. Further more, it's EXACTLY this kind of attitude that is going to get you on the wrong side of the law. It isn't my job to judge people, but I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that you have been caught by the Police for doing something you shouldn't have been, and because you aren't mature enough to own up to your own mistake you're taking it out on those who's job it is to do so. Suck it up, your opinion of the Law Enforcement doesn't mean more than a pile of manure, however Law Enforcement's opinion of you means more than you can imagine.

read my explanation above. it was no death threat. If you are not a cop, you are already on the wrong side of the law. Its up to the police whether they want to take advantage of it or not. Like I said, they can do good things or be good people, but there can't be a good cop as long as the law enforcement system is so fucked, and your closing statement just goes to prove all that I have been saying. I've been caught for my fair share of stupid things, but I blame myself for what I did, not the cop. Your making assumptions and not reading whats right in front of you.
Posted by mortimer Jello Biafra ran for mayor once on a weird platform that included one rather good idea, that being that cops should be elected by the neighbourhoods they patrol. At the very least, I think cops should have to live where they work, I think a lot of potential for abuse of power would disappear pretty quickly. This is primarily an idea for urban environments, and obviously would not work with more specialized divisions like homicide, forensics, sex crime, traffic, etc.

A step in the right direction
grit your teeth in the face of fear. self repression is the true sign of a coward, toss your inhibitions to the wind. |
