|  | | | now that the SSC is sold off I figure we need a new holy grail, anyone have any info on the old National Semi Conductor plant in Arlington?
The Arlington plant was begun in 1985 and closed in 2009. IT went up for Auction but I am not sure if it sold but has been up for sale since.
This exceptional 441,362 square foot former semiconductor facility consists of 3 buildings including manufacturing and office and is set on over 71 acres with an additional 50 acres of adjacent vacant land available for expansion. There are 3 separated fabrication areas with dedicated makeup and recirculation air systems for a total of 116,920 sq ft; approximately 91,228 sq ft of office space with framed sheetrock offices and conference rooms; cleanrooms Class 10; elevators; fiber optics provided by Verizon; sprinklered; emergency generators; fully air conditioned; de-ionized water system with 18 Mohm Ultrapure water plant; Industrial waste treatment plant;

| | | | That place was pretty cool when it was in operation. I actually worked in there years ago for a short contract. Security was pretty intense back at that time, but I'm sure it's minimal at best now.
Lots of traffic in the general area from all of the car dealerships, but that could be useful cover as well.
It would definitely be worth a fly-by to assess. I think I might be in that general area later this afternoon.
