Since I've posted and asked for critiques. I recently (in the last week) picked up a 50mm 1.8 canon lens. And thought I'd give it a go here for getting photo thrashed.

Anyway.

Have fun.

Beautifully abstract. I would only suggest cropping the left of 2 so that the telephone pole silhouette doesn't have the small amount of sky beside it, might work better for framing. And leveling 6.

Thanks weirding. I agree. Right after I posted. I thought "oh shit. 6 isn't straight. "

I guess the abstract and the details is what I'm better at. Than... wonderfully expansive shots that explain where you are.

Very nice! I remember all the fun I had when I first got my nifty fifty. I just wish I could figure out how to get that razor-thin focus on what I WANT it to be on when it's all the way at 1.8. It always winds up on something flat that is not the subject of the photo.

Aw. I know what you mean. It's so fun. I don't think this lens is going to come off the camera until I get a good wide angle. And that wont be for quite some time.

Why not try manual focus. Either that or manually select your AF point.

I use specific af points all the time. I'm really horrible at manual focusing. :/

These are amazing, especially 3, 4 and 5. Macro gets badly overdone by explorers, but this is macro done RIGHT!
